Me, thee and a tree!

Is there ever a suitable occasion to wear harem pants, especially in white? Only if you're partially disguised by a tree. The linen trousers may well be consigned to a fancy-dress party. In the meantime, I'm 'daring' them with a black halterneck from Massimo Dutti, 'early' Erickson Beamon earrings, Roberto Cavalli sunglasses, wooden animal-print shoes by Spanish label, Rodo, and a basket... which is just a basket.

I heart Wimbledon

Yes - I do... on a stroll around one of London's picturesque villages on a fine Bank Holiday, after a marvellous lunch at the Fox & Grapes on Wimbledon Common. The restaurant, a 2011 Bib Gourmand winner, was opened by Claude Bosi and is managed by his brother, Cedric. The former relocated his celebrated Hisbiscus restaurant from Ludlow to London's Mayfair in 2007. Casual Nicole Farhi silk/cashmere top joins some slouchy Zara linens and a pair of green leather wedges by C. Doux from Stella C. To top the look are my Tom Ford sunnies, the shape of which is reminiscent of a butterfly.

It's a jungle out there... or rather in here!

Putting on a lively jungle-printed Timberland shirt dress for a casual foray into civilisation... accessorised with a Gucci belt, a little Mulberry bag (it has to be tan) and a pair of vintage brown studded platforms. Jazzing it up are my vivid-green ethnic beads and a floral enamel ring.

Suited... for a Hampshire wedding

Fine views over the Hampshire countryside en route to a friend's weekend wedding in the charming town of Alresford. Suited in Max Mara wool/silk pinstripes (purchased at Paraphernalia), heeled in my grosgrain Russell & Bromley platforms and hatted in an ironic miniature straw topper from Claire's vintage and retro pop-up in Kirkdale, Sydenham, I took several breathers... midst the greenery. The jewellery: my vintage dazzlers and a pearl knuckle duster from the South Seas. The only colour to be found is in my yellow Osprey bag and matching toenails. The sunglasses are by Chanel and quirk it all up - every time!

Looks like rain...

... in a brown linen sack dress, by 120% Lino, which covers all weathers! Much-needed colour is contributed by my skull-print scarf - newly gifted from Mexico, specifically the beautiful town of San Miguel de Allende. Another interesting addition is a recently-purchased basket from Claire, in Sydenham's Kirkdale. More brown with the Tom Ford sunnies and the bronze woven heels by Pons Quintana. Finally, the pretty orange and gold-brushed studs are from Jessica Walker Jewellery.

Black on blue

A day for staple black... and a faithful rucksack. Sometimes it is the background in one's life which brings the most colour! And yes, I love blue doors - from North Yorkshire to south London!

Take two: in the same dress!

Yes... here again in that Gottex dress - this time against a rustic northern backdrop, which amplifies those blues.
Vintage beaded earrings, a woven bag and plastic-fantastic multicoloured bangles from a local market add to the fun. And the spiky Ash sandals bring a little punk to the door!

Coolly Cloistered

Taking shelter... in a cool vintage summer dress in hot patterned colours by Gottex. Founded in 1957, the Tel Aviv company is best known for its designer swimswear but this drawstring halterneck would look equally good on the sand, as much as it does here against the stone. The black shaggy cardi is of a similar vintage and the pink plastic shopper is simply practical - on a showery day. My favourite Chanel sunglasses provide cover from the contrariness of the weather.
